A couple weeks ago, our pal Tim turned me on to DJ Father Time who spins [vinyl, no less!] every first Friday of the month at the King and I thai restaurant [that's a pic of the bar above] downtown on the edge of Loring park here:

Pollee and I went down there last night for his set from 10p-2a and the tunes were so great we ended up closing the place. The theme was “Two minute warning”, meaning that no song was longer than 2 minutes and no artist was ever repeated.
That’s great for someone like me. Long songs are not my favorite. With all due respect to “Stairway to Heaven” and “Hey, Jude“, there is a time and place for a long song. My day-to-day operations call for short and sweet.
If you’re in town on a first Friday of the month, the atmosphere, food, drinks [ask Pollee about their martinis], crowd and definitely the MUSIC are great!
Pollee and I enjoyed the whole scene and made some new pals, a recipe for a great night out in Mini.
